The East End is an exciting neighborhood on the move. The Eastman School of Music is nearby with its excellent program of music for public enjoyment. Two of Rochester's favorite coffeehouses are also in the neighborhood as well as two great places to see national music acts, Milestones and The Montage Bar and Grill. There are upscale restaurants, trendy nightclubs as well as traditional bars and local eateries. The East End is a great place to live both for its lively scene and for the fact of its proximity to downtown offices, which makes it an easy place for residents to walk to work and play at night.

The Village Gate Square is a vital component of Rochester's Neighborhood of the Arts (NOTA). The neighborhood contains some of Rochester major cultural institutions including, The Memorial Art Gallery, The George Eastman House/The International Museum of Photography, Writers and Books and The Visual Studies Workshop. Village Gate Square and its next door neighbor, The Fabrics and Finding Building, houses some of Rochester most talented individual artists. These artists open their studios to visitors the second Saturday of each month. NOTA is a tight-knit community that welcomes visitors and newcomers alike to its spirited activities.
