Rochester's cultural district is anchored in the East End by the Eastman Theatre. This neighborhood has urban-styled restaurants, a bakery, nightclubs, and coffeeshops -- all vital contributors to the atmosphere in this part of the city.

The Village Gate area has recently been renamed Neighborhood of the Arts (NOTA) because of the large amount of work created there every day. Painters and potters, metalsmiths and woodworkers all fill the area's studios, storefronts and apartments with work that is unique and functional.
